By nature most birds are a gather species. Your purpose when bonding with your bird is to found who the head of the congregate is. To achieve this you first must gain the birds trust. NEVER strike the bird; this will only make the bird scared of you… not trust you.

As with any pet, luxuries it with love and it will give you love. Extravagance it unkindly and you will have a mean feisty pet.

Let your bird eat with you. Cockatiels love to eat in a group, so by allowing the bird to eat with you and your family you will gain the birds belief. Most birds will eat just about whatever thing they see you eating so don’t be indecisive to give it what you are eating. The former you introduce new foods to your bird, the improved.

A No’s for birds are: Chocolate, caffeine, avocado, apple seeds, sunflowers, plug-in air fresheners & candle scents, Reynolds cooking bags, carpet fresh carpet cleaner, Faberge.
